It was a comment by Pakistan General Mr Ayub Khan, after he beat Abdul Khaliq that led to him being called “The Flying Sikh”.Losing the olympics made him get into depression and consider giving up the sport. He did not lose the 1960 olympics because the coach yelled Bhag Milkha Bhag, triggering a memory but because he made the big error of slowing down after 250 meters when he was leading.Unfortunately for him he was the fourth person to do so in the same race. Milkha Singh not only a set a world record during a preliminary race before the 1960 olympics in France with a time of 45.8, but he also broke olympics track record during the 1960 olympics final with a time of 45.6 seconds.So here is a list of interesting tidbits and facts about the life of Milkha Singh. Seeing that the film was inspired a real life story, it really made me want to know the facts from fiction, along with other details regarding the sport. Even though slowly paced, It didn’t become boring.
So today I went to watch Bhag Milkha Bhag, a Rakyesh Omprakash Mehra movie, starring Farhan Akhtar inspired by the life story of India’s legendary athlete Milkha Singh, famously known as the Flying Sikh of India.įirstly, kudos to the makers of the film and Farhan Akhtar for doing such a brilliant job. My plan is try and do each of them – some I have already done, many that are yet to do and blog about each new experience while trying to finish this.
Not really the answers, but maybe a path so that I can figure out my answers. I don’t know what I am going to decide, or maybe its the opportunity of making these large decisions that is confusing to me. Up until now life followed a set of things that you had to do – Study (You need it to get a job), Masters (By then I hadn’t gotten a job and something was better than nothing), Job (That’s what I studied for, though not sure how much the studies prepared me for the job)Ĭoming back to the point, in the midst of all the brain ramblings, I came across this Buzzfeed Video – 27 Things to do before you settle down. (Possibly this is the more rational part of my brain) If I don’t choose to study more, I have to work and the job is going good. If I choose to study MBA, 3 years of experience will count, start studying for GMAT.
Let me get my work experience in place.I should be travelling, maybe studying more, or just exploring Yes there are tons of experiences and mistakes that teach you a lot, and the last two years have proven that but my life right now is divided between thinking –
